Returned to this area of India after 20 years. Seen alot of change in Goa, most of it not good. Booked into the Hard Rock as have stayed at other hard rocks around the world. This one was a let down to start with. My friend and I checked in... Fairly quick. Rooms were tired, old, with damp walls. Some mould and mirrors and furniture past it's sell by date. Complained within 5 mins of seeing the room. Both to the reception and Expedia (who am exceptionally disappointed with, and am still waiting on a response from them :( ).... Manager (Nirmal) was kind enough though to upgrade us the following day and gave us 2 suites (thank you 🙏). Both better maintained but still needing updating. Some other bad things: * Music in evenings is lovely but too loud as can't even talk to other people. * Pool needs to be cleaned regularly as appears clouded and should be crystal clear. * Regular power cuts... Not the hotels fault as dodgy grid. But maybe a better seamless generator / inverter needed. Now to balance things out... Good things: * Amazing bar staff.. Alvira, Deepak both friendly, kind...always a smile and prompt with drinks. Gave good ideas and v professional. * Pool side guys - Harekrishnan and Gopal. Both nice guys but have a v hard job controlling crazy guests. Some who don't listen. My friend and I found them v helpful and prompt. * Restaurant looks v tired and needs updating... However again good staff. Calling out Anokha for her kindness, smile and lovely demunre. * Area around pool was beautiful with well looked after palm trees and vegetation , nice to chill and contemplate. Hotel maintenance seems to be ongoing and patch work everywhere. Not sure why management don't just close part of hotel and do it properly. It has alot of potential. The staff are hard working and lovely. Pls give everyone above a pay rise... I will look in on them in a few months and ask... Beware management :)

We had a great stay at Hard Rock Hotel, a highlight definitely the Tonic Bar and the pool was fantastic. We spent loads of time by the pool and the staff were amazing. All the staff were friendly, professional and personable. A standout was Elvira who worked at Tonic Bar. She took the time to get to know our trip and what we wanted from Goa and provided outstanding customer service and travel advice well exceeding her usual hospitality duties. We had many meals in our stay and the food was great. The music by the pool was also appropriate to the setting and provided for a fantastic ambiance that made our stay even more relaxing.

I chose the Hard Rock for 5 nights because I thought it would have the standards that I am used to in USA however I was disappointed. There were many issues with the 2 rooms that my friends and I were assigned. The rooms are in need of much needed renovation which the hotel is actually in process of doing. We complained and then were upgraded to suite rooms which were a grateful improvement. We generally hung out at the Tonic Bar and poolside. I have to say that Elvira and her bar team were very hospitable and friendly to us and made our stay enjoyable. I would say that the poolside DJ in the evenings is too loud and did not accommodate our request to turn down the loudness. Ambient music would be better than disco level! I feel even the bar staff find it too loud a working environment since conversation is difficult with other staff and guests. The grounds around the pool are very nice with palm trees and vegetation. The furniture is good so it’s a great place to relax. The restaurant is pleasant and the al a carte food is good but it takes 25 minutes for meal to arrive which is long considering low season. The buffet was pretty much all Indian food so we stuck with menu options. Overall a good experience but considering the Hard Rock brand name I think it could improve the quality of the rooms. I have given an Average rating on this property.

This is one of the best stays we've had in Goa. Lovely place, ambience and positive energy. Must appreciate and thank Mitali for the friendly customer service she provides, very soft spoken and we were taken care of right till checking out. She was the best. Definitely looking forward to come back and experience similar service from Mitali. A big thanks and best wishes 👍 Also would like to thank Manju for great hospitality at the restaurant.
